Drones in Agriculture

Why use a Drone company to assist with your farming?

Today’s drones and software, assisted by cloud computing and advanced analytics, can bring real value to a farm. Many people can remember early drone days when both hardware and software were in their infancy, now things have changed.

What is an Agricultural Drone?

An agricultural drone is an Small Unmanned Aircraft (SUA) applied to farming in order to help increase crop production and monitor crop growth.

What can they provide?

Drones can provide an up-to-date, high-resolution aerial data solution that produce plant counts and establishment checks, detect weeds and disease, measure nitrogen and biomass.

With fast data processing and the ability to now fly in variable weather conditions, drones allow you to work with the latest crop data and even export it in industry standard formats for variable rate nitrogen or pesticide prescriptions.

What’s next on the horizon?

Although not currently legal to spray using Drones; it is expected that licences will be begin to be granted in the UK by the Chemicals Regulation Division of the Health and Safety Executive during 2019. This aerial spraying will allow for targeted application over any terrain and effectively provide a full end-to-end solution to farmers.
